On Saturday at 12.00, Deputy Governor of Eesti Pank Madis Müller will open a special exhibition dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the central bank. Mait Sooaru from the Eesti Post management board will also present a first day cover dedicated to the bank. The event is open to everyone.

The exhibition Eesti Pank 95. Bank of the Republic of Estonia 1919-1939 examines the founding of Eesti Pank and its operations until the occupation of Estonia, introduces some of the key figures of the time, and traces the development of the economy and the working environment in the central bank. The exhibition has been put together in cooperation with historian Jaak Valge and Märt Karmo, an expert on the history of the bank. At the opening, Märt Karmo will introduce the exhibition and speak in Estonian about the early years of the bank. The exhibition will run in the Eesti Pank Museum until the end of the year.

Eesti Post is issuing a first day cover for the 95th anniversary of Eesti Pank, which shows the oldest of the bank's buildings, the building of the former Nobles’ Bank. The central bank has used the building since 1996 and it has now been restored to its former condition and is open to everyone as the museum of the bank. The first day cover was designed by the artist Indrek Ilves and 1500 copies are being released. It costs 87 cents, which is the price of a stamp for a letter within Estonia. The cover is available from the Eesti Pank Museum and selected post offices.

The opening of the exhibition and presentation of the cover are open to everyone. To celebrate its anniversary Eesti Pank will be offering sweet treats to visitors.

The Eesti Pank Museum is open on Saturdays at 11-16 and from Tuesdays to Fridays at 12-17. Entrance is free.
