Governor of Eesti Pank and member of the Governing Council of the European Central Bank
The monetary policy of the central bank may seem to be a difficult topic and most people do not think about it every day. It affects all of us though, when we go to the shops, buy a house, take a loan or save for our pensions. This means that concepts from central banking like price levels, interest rates or purchasing power have a clear place in our everyday lives.
- We would like to know what people think about the aims and the work of the central bank. To do this we are hosting a virtual roundtable of organisations from civil society on 25 November at 13.00-15.30. Similar discussions are being held in every country in the euro area. Everybody can follow the event on the Eesti Pank website.
- Anybody who wants to participate, can also give their opinion by clicking on this website link here. We will collect all the opinions we receive and pass them on to the Governing Council of the European Central Bank to give them feedback on how monetary policy has worked for people in the euro area and how it would be best to move forward.
We hope to hear lots of opinions from the people of Estonia!
