Eesti Pank, in cooperation with the ECB, launches a competitive game for schoolchildren. The game lasts until end-April and its objective is to introduce euro banknotes and the coins of euro-area countries.

The purpose of the game is to familiarise schoolchildren with euro banknotes and with the national sides of euro coins. In addition, participants must answer questions regarding the euro and its security features.

The computer game “Eurorun” is mostly intended for children aged 9-12. The competition consists of seven levels, each of which focuses on one denomination. The game and participation conditions are available on Euroweb and on the home page of the ECB.

The last day to sign up for the competition is 30 April 2011. Four best players and their classmates will be invited to Eesti Pank for the final held in May.

The project is the result of cooperation of the Ministry of Education and Research, the newspaper Õpetajate Leht, associations of teachers of social science and economics and of school activity leaders, portals koolielu.ee and lastekas.ee and the magazine Hea Laps.
