On Thursday, February 12, Eesti Pank will hold an open seminar Wage and Price Setting: Survey Evidence. The seminar takes place in Nordic Hotel Forum and introduces the results of three labour market related surveys prepared at the central bank in 2008.

The results of their surveys are introduced by Tairi Rõõm and Aurelijus Dabushinskas from the Research Department of Eesti Pank. The surveys were conducted within the framework of the ESCB's Wage Dynamics Network. The first presentation Wage Setting in Estonia vs the EU: Survey Evidence provides an overview of a survey carried out in 17 EU Member States and analyses the flexibility of Estonia’s labour market in the European context. Then follows Tairi Rõõm's presentation on the research Wage Rigidity and Alternative Margins of Labour Cost Adjustment and Aurelijus Dabushinskas' presentation on the research Price, Wage and Employment Response in Shocks: Evidence from the WDN Survey.

The seminar is in English and free of charge.

It is possible to register for the seminar until February 11. Please notify us of your attendance by contacting Ms Eve Mägin, Assistant of the Research Department of Eesti Pank, by telephone +372 6680 758 or e-mail [email protected].

The seminar presentations will also be published on the web page of Eesti Pank.

Eesti Pank has been organising open seminars since 2000. The aim of the seminars is to support the exchange of ideas between the central bank and both Estonian and foreign academic circles and economic policy institutions.
