Eesti Pank announces that during the next six months, renewed 25-, 100-, and 500-kroon banknotes will be released into circulation.

The new 100-kroon notes will be put into circulation at the end of 2007; the stock of 25- and 50-kroon banknotes will be renewed at the beginning of 2008. The new banknotes will be visually identical to the ones currently in circulation.

The need to print more banknotes results from the obligation to ensure a sufficient number of circulating banknotes with proper quality. In January 2007, Eesti Pank renewed the stock of 2- and 10-kroon notes.

Eesti Pank will provide specific information regarding the new banknotes immediately before their issuance.
