International finance leaders come to Tallinn in June

Eesti Pank organises an international conference "Alternative exchange rate regimes in the Globalised World" on 11 June this year. The conference will bring to Tallinn well-known experts and theoreticians of the financial circles.

The President of the Republic of Estonia Arnold Rüütel and Prime Minister Siim Kallas are invited to give a speech.

The Governor of Eesti Pank Vahur Kraft has invited to the conference dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Estonian kroon the following prestigious guests: Member of the Executive Board Domingo Solans from the European Central Bank, President Andrew Crockett from the Bank for International Settlements, Chief Economist Willem H. Buiter from the Europeran Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Vice President Dr Jürgen Stark from Deutsche Bundesbank, European II Department Director John Odling-Smee from the International Monetary Fund, Governor of Suomen Pankki Matti Vanhala, Professor Eisuke Sakakibara former Japanese Deputy Minister of Finance, Vice President Tony Latter from the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, Deputy President György Szapary from the National Bank of Hungary and many other acknowledged experts. The US Department of the Treasury, European and Asian universities are also represented in Tallinn.

The conference in the Baltic region is unique and gives Estonia an excellent opportunity for high level discussions in financial and economic affairs.

Apart from Estonian public figures, entrepreneurs, experts in economy and finance, also guests from central banks from abroad, international organisations and elsewhere are expected to participate.
