Meeting of the Supervisory Board of Eesti Pank

At today's regular meeting of the Supervisory Board of Eesti Pank, Deputy Governor Ülo Kaasik presented the central bank’s latest economic forecast, and Eesti Pank Governor Ardo Hansson gave a review of the state of the economy in the euro area.

The Eesti Pank Supervisory Board approved the decision to stop giving consumer loans to Eesti Pank employees from this year. This had been proposed by the Executive Board of Eesti Pank, which found that continuing to give such loans was no longer justified. The conditions and deadlines of loan agreements that have already been signed will not be affected by this decision.

A presentation was made to the Supervisory Board of the results of the VEB Fund audit ordered by the Governor. The Supervisory Board supported the Executive Board's approach to the audit of the VEB Fund.

Eesti Pank will publish the results of the audit of the VEB Fund at a press conference starting at 11.00 on Wednesday.

The next meeting of the Eesti Pank Supervisory Board will be on 5 March.
