Mr Erik Thedéen, Governor of the Swedish Central Bank (Sveriges Riksbank), will hold a lecture in the Independence Hall of Eesti Pank. Lecture will be held on Wednesday 7 February 2024, from 10:30 to 11:30 Central European Time / 11:30 to 12:30 Tallinn time. The lecture will discuss the state of the Swedish economy and the monetary policy choices of the central bank in the face of high inflation, a weak exchange rate, and high debt levels in the private sector.

Erik Thedéen took up the post of Governor of the Riksbank and Chairman of the Executive Board on 1 January 2023. Between 2015 and 2022 he was Director General of Finansinspektionen (the Swedish financial supervisory authority) and prior to that he was State Secretary at the Ministry of Finance. Mr Thedéen has also served as Deputy Director General of the Swedish National Debt Office, CEO of the Stockholm Stock Exchange and Managing Director at KPA Pension.
