The panel convened by Eesti Pank chose the design by Sebastian Mikolajczak as the winner of the competition to design a silver collector coin dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of Jaan Tõnisson.

The silver collector coin shows a portrait of the Estonian statesman, politician and lawyer Jaan Tõnisson. The winning designer is the internationally known Polish medal and coin designer Sebastian Mikolajczak. The silver coin with a nominal value of 15 euros will be issued in December 2018, and 3000 of the coins will be minted.

Second place among the 22 entries in the design competition went to Tiiu Pirsko and Mati Veermets, and third place to Riho Luuse.

Once the coin is released, the winning designer will receive a prize of 2000 euros, while the second-placed design will win 700 and the third-placed 500 euros. Where designers have worked together on a design, they will have to share the prize money.
