At Tuesday’s regular meeting of the Eesti Pank Supervisory Board, Eesti Pank Governor Madis Müller gave board members the regular review of the state of the economy in the euro area. Head of the Monetary Policy and International Economics Division of Eesti Pank Peeter Luikmel gave a review of the state of the economies in neighbouring countries.

Head of the Financial Stability Department Jaak Tõrs explained to Board members the reasons why savings and loan associations need to be regulated.

The meeting was preceded by a seminar at which Chair of the Fiscal Council Peter Lõhmus gave a presentation on the work of the Fiscal Council. After the meeting the Board had a meeting with the head of the internal audit department Viljar Alnek.

The next meeting of the Eesti Pank Supervisory Board will be on 21 November.
