<h2>Background</h2>

<p>The statistical release describes the main changes in the interest rates on new loans and leases issued by banks, creditors and savings and loan associations, and the interest rates on deposits.&nbsp;<strong>The statistical release is independent of economic policy releases and is presented separately from them.</strong></p>
