In 2019 the 100th anniversary of the founding of Eesti Pank was marked. The book The History of Eesti Pank was published for this occasion and describes the history in Estonia of central banking, which in the simplest sense means preserving the value of money. It discusses the successes and the missteps of Eesti Pank and also covers the times when there was no independent Estonian state and monetary affairs on Estonian territory were managed by the central banks of Sweden, Russia or the USSR. The history of Eesti Pank was written by the well-known business journalist Villu Zirnask.
