Eesti Pank is inviting entries for a competition to design a collector coin for Jüri Jaakson
Both individuals and groups of designers are welcome to participate in the design competition for the silver collector coin dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of Jüri Jaakson.
Eesti Pank will issue the collector coin dedicated to the Estonian politician and statesman Jüri Jaakson in early 2020. Jüri Jaakson was Governor of Eesti Pank in 1926–1940.
The nominal value of the silver coin is 15 euros. The elements that must be included in the design are the national great coat of arms, the words “Eesti Vabariik” and the year 2020 on the obverse side, and the nominal value with the euro symbol (15€) on the reverse.
The deadline for the submission of correctly formatted designs is 29 March 2019 at 12.00. Designs should be sent to: Mündižürii, Eesti Pank, Estonia pst 13, 15095 Tallinn.
Participants in the design competition can submit more than one design and the winners will be announced by the panel invited by Eesti Pank by 15 May 2019 at the latest. Once the coin is released, the designers of the three best submissions will receive prizes, with the winning design receiving 2000 euros, the second placed design receiving 700 euros, and the third placed 500.
Eesti Pank is happy to receive suggestion for commemorative and collector coins by post or email or through its website. The bank passes all the suggestions it receives to the advisory committee for analysis and expert opinion. The proposals of the advisory committee are used by the management of Eesti Pank when they decide on which commemorative and collector coins to issue.
The committee is chaired by Mart Laar, and its members are Aino Lepik von Wirén, Piret Õunapuu, Ivar Leimus, Raul Rebane, Toomas Kiho and Lauri Vahtre.
