Public lecture dedicated to Professor Ragnar Nurkse on 4 November 2022


The President of the European Central Bank Christine Lagarde visited Estonia on 4 November and gave a public lecture at Eesti Pank on Monetry Policy in a high inflation environment: commitment and clarity. Eesti Pank Governor Madis Müller gave out the Eesti Pank research awards at the same event.

Lecture series dedicated to Professor Ragnar Nurkse

Ragnar Nurkse was the Estonian economist who achieved global recognition in the 1940s and 1950s. His research on monetary policy issues, international trade, international policy coordination, and development economics has provided valuable information, lessons, and guidelines.

Eesti Pank started the regular lecture series dedicated to Ragnar Nurkse in 2007.
